The Office of International Relations at Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM) recently had the pleasure of welcoming a group of 16 students and 2 professors from Langara College, Canada, for a week-long Short Course program in Thailand.
A long-standing partner of PIM, Langara College includes Thailand as the final stop on their 3-week educational tour across Asia, following visits to Korea and Vietnam. This marks another successful year of collaboration between the two institutions.
During their 7-day stay, the group immersed themselves in a variety of academic, cultural, and social experiences. Highlights included a special lecture on Thai business, a hands-on workshop in Thai cooking where they learned to make the iconic Tom Yum Goong, and insightful company visits to Chang Beer Factory and Tropicana Coconut Oil.
Cultural exploration was also a big part of the program, with trips to the Grand Palace, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and the ancient ruins of Ayutthaya. One of the standout moments was their visit to the famous Maeklong Railway Market, where they witnessed a train pass directly through the bustling stalls—a unique scene that left quite an impression.
The program concluded with meaningful volunteer work at Saint Martin Foundation and a memorable farewell dinner cruise along the Chao Phraya River.
We hope our guests from Langara College had an unforgettable experience and look forward to welcoming them back again next year!
